4/8/2009 Microsoft has announced that SharePoint Designer 2007 is now a free download! A program that just two weeks ago went for over $250 is now free.
Here is a link to Microsoft’s Site SharePoint 2007 Site What does this mean? It means that Microsoft wants to get more users customizing and branding SharePoint to continue to drive interest. “Customers tell us that a significant part of the customization capabilities of SharePoint Designer 2007 are seen as an extension of what SharePoint already does.” Microsoft will require registration to download, but no further requirements beyond that.
