Revelations About Exchange 2010, SharePoint Server 2010, and MOSS 2007 SP2

Microsoft recently announced the immediate and somewhat unexpected availability of Microsoft Exchange 2010 beta. Chris Capossela, senior vice president of Microsoft's Information Worker Product Management, announced that Exchange 2010 would be released to market in the second half of 2009. Also, details about SP2 for Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) were recently announced. So there's lots to cover this week.

Active X Control and Internet Facing SharePoint Sites

Does it get annoying having to ignore or accept the ActiveX request when going to your public facing SharePoint site? Here is a synopsis from Microsoft and a link to their solution.

SharePoint Designer 2007 is now FREE!

image Microsoft has announced that SharePoint Designer 2007 is now a free download! A program that just two weeks ago went for over $250 is now free.

What does this mean? It means that Microsoft wants to get more users customizing and branding SharePoint to continue to drive interest.
